Anne Curtis BLK COSMETICS All Day Intense Matte Lipstick in Elegant

Wow, this post had been stewing in my draft folders for the longest time (September, to be exact haha). I got into a major blogging funk, but recently just got my mojo back. Which, hopefully, will last longer than the last time I had it back.

(How many times have I lost my blogging mojo these past few years AHH.)

BLK Cosmetics, to those not familiar with it yet, is the brainchild of Anne Curtis and Jacqe Yuengtian-Gutierrez. If you're reluctant to try the makeup line because it's owned by an artista, don't fret, because the co-founder is actually the co-founder of Happy Skin Cosmetics! So, you're definitely in good hands!

I no longer remember the exact date that I got the lipstick, but I got it on the very first day it launched at SM North Edsa. I was trailing behind my Mom, dragging my feet because it was too early in the morning — when the kiosk of the very, very, very newly opened BLK Cosmetics caught my eye.

I stood there for a couple of minutes just swatching their lipstick line. While their liquid lipsticks looked promising, I gravitated towards their Matte Lipstick line because I remember how much I love the Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Matte Lippie.

I got the BLK Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Elegant (P299) because I wanted to see how the BLK Cosmetics Matte lipstick would compare to the Happy Skin one, and by God, they're comparable. The Happy Skin lippies are just a tad bit more moisturizing. But essentially, they're pretty similar, and the BLK one is half price the Happy Skin ;)

The BLK Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Elegant is described as peachy nude on their official website, but as you can see on the photo above, it's definitely NOT peach nor is it NUDE. It's more like a MLBB color - light brick red.

The formula is great, too! I do have to admit, there's definitely tugging when I put this on; but I don't mind, because it just means the lipstick would stay on longer. It feels very lightweight on the lips, and it's super pigmented. I already said this on my IG post, but I can compare the formula to MAC's retro matte.

I think the formula would not be for everyone, but it's definitely a 2-thumbs up for me!

  1. Sounds like my type of matte. I try to avoid the creamier ones because they don’t last long. The drier the better! Finally picked up a few, I should unbox!
