Skin Genie Lip and Cheek stain in Tramp & Tan Brown

Okay, I'm going to be honest, I've never heard of this brand until Regina Belmonte (@vivatregina) mentioned it on her Instagram page. I mean if it was good enough for her, it's good enough for me! Her Tumblr post years ago was also the reason why I bought MAC Rebel. :3

I don't have much experience with lip tints, but I am still currently obsessed with the Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint — it's the only lip product that I have been using for the past few weeks! — so I was looking for a nice alternative since the brand isn't available locally.

The Skin Genie Lip & Cheek Tint (Php80/10ml) is an all-natural makeup gel that delivers gorgeous color on lips and cheeks. Yeeep, the price is EIGHTY FREAKING PESOS. Probably the cheapest lip product I've ever tried.

Tan Brown

Tramp is a pinky coral, which is usually a color I'm not too fond of. But this one looks super nice. Honestly, the shade is best described as cute (as in pabebe cute lol) hehe. I didn't think I'd like Tan Brown, but I ended up really, really loving that one. I don't often see brown colored lip tints, and the fact that they have one (a nice shade of brown, at that) was pretty cool.

The lip tints are housed in a glass bottle with a roller ball as the applicator. Not the best packaging for a very runny lip tint, but I can overlook it since the price is super cheap! I've read a review that said that the packaging is leak-proof, but it's most definitely not. While taking photos for this post, both  shades had spilled on me, so be careful when storing it.

It smells exactly like a melon candy I used to eat when I was a kid, which was a pleasant surprise. You know I hate fragrance on makeup, but the smell doesn't linger, so I was fine with it.

The tints leave a bit of oily residue on my lips when first applied, and yes, it bothers me a little. But I just pat a tissue (or my fingers) over my lips, and it's fine afterwards. It dries down to a matte finish, and stays on for hours.

I'm getting Creamy Peach, Merlot & Burgundy Wine next. P80 lang guys, P80!!!

I was going to buy it online, but I found out that they have a stall in Pop Culture, Trinoma! It's adjacent Chedelyn's Cosmetics stall. :)

You could also find them online: Skin Genie's Facebook, Instagram.

  1. I bought the Tan and the black one, I think it's called Villain. Loveee Tan and idk why I bought a black lipstain haha. I personally don't like the melon smell (and I have a paranoid feeling they used a food grade melon extract haha, which isn't bad but I'm just iffy with).

I wish I knew I could buy them at Pop culture earlier so di sayang ung SF, but now I know, planning to get the orange one.

  2. hi my make up artist who is teaching me coz im aiming to be one taught me you can use tan brown for the nose line if needed
