It took me ages to get my hands on one of the most coveted lip product of 2014 - the NARS Audacious lipsticks - for no reason other than I was on a makeup ban hahaha The lipstick line was well hyped up, but I didn't want to break my ban, and be suckered into buying something just because it was "in" at that time.
So, I waited and waited and waited... until a fairy godmother (note: mom) gave one to me for my birthday!
The NARS Audacious lipstick retails for $32 | Php1650 a lot more expensive than NARS' regular lipstick line, but I will tell you now, the price is well worth it. The lipstick is housed in a hefty slick matte black bullet with a magnetic closure.
I got the shade Charlotte first, but when I opened the lipstick bullet, the lipstick has a slight nick on it. I took it back to the store, had it exchanged then asked if I could get Raquel instead. See, a few weeks prior, I bought Tom Ford Velvet Cherry, so I really cannot justify getting another red lipstick...
(Charlotte is beautiful, though! I'm coming back for you!)
Raquel, named after actress Raquel Welch, is a little lighter than what I anticipated it to be.. I guess it shouldn't be a surprise since Raquel is the lightest shade in the Audacious line. It's gorgeous, nonetheless. One of the most beautiful pinky nudes I've come across with. The color is already extremely flattering on its own; but pairing it with a subtle smokey eye makeup takes it to a whole new level.
They weren't kidding when they said the Audacious lipsticks are pigmented, because boy, one swipe can give you all the color you need. And Raquel is a nude lipstick, okay. I can only wonder how the deeper color in the line performs... *swoons*
I also love how this lipstick does not feather or bleed. It also does not do the nasty clumping on the sides of your lips as the day goes by. It lasts a good solid hours on me but once it does fade, it fades evenly! The Audacious line is definitely one of my favorite lipstick formulas out in the market today.
What's your favorite shade from this line? :)
