I wanted to write something a little different from the usual beauty favorites posts (frankly it's getting too redundant), and when I saw Estee (of Essiebutton) made a video about her non-beauty favorites, I though hey~ why not do that one, too.
So, non-beauty favorites.
A natural bristle body brush for dry brushing. I first heard of dry brushing from one of Divasoria's Glossy blog posts. What exactly does dry brushing do to your body? It's a great way to exfoliate your skin, it helps increase blood circulation, reduce cellulite, helps with digestion and kidney function, etc etc. Been doing this for a month now, and I have noticed a difference re: cellulite so, yay.
(Also, apparently Miranda Kerr dry brushed throughout her pregnancy, and ta-da~ no strechmarks!)
This Topshop sunglasses was one of my favorite sale buys. It was reduced to P399 from P1250; and when I was in the till to pay, it ended up being only P99. That's even cheaper than some sunglasses I get at 168 ha ha ha
Another one of my best buy ever, this time from a trip to Taiwan, was this really adorable Pink French Bulldog Makeup Kit! ♥ I got it in one of the alleys at Ximending, and if I remember correctly, it only costs me 200TWD (P350)! I can fit a lot of things in it - big enough to stuff toiletries for a week-long vacation! Seriously. It's spacious yet it's so compact! I also love that it's waterproof!
I really, really adore the print, too! French bulldogs is actually on my (very short) list of dog breeds I want to own someday. SO PUDGY!
I've been a Harry Potter fan since I was 11 years old, so anything Daniel Radcliffe do, I will watch. I was lucky enough to catch the movie What If about a week ago before it was pulled out of the theaters, and I really, really LOVED it.
What If is not a movie that you watch if you want something deep, serious or thought-provoking. As I've said on Twitter, the movie is funny, light and fluffy. Something you watch if you want to smile... or be happy or something. It's a delight to watch. Also: Harry Potter all grown-up and skinny-dipping at midnight. Ooooh yeah.
The second bit right there is the soundtrack of Guardians of the Galaxy. I enjoy watching Marvel movies.. However, I have completely no idea what GotG was all about when I watched it so I was a bit confused for the first quarter of the movie, lol. The OST made up for it, though!
"When you hold me, in your arms so tight. You let me know, everything's all right" Nggggh Also: Chris Pratt, you sexy GQMF ♥
My last non-beauty favorites is Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson. I've only recently started reading this but already I am in love with the book's characters. They're fun, witty and relatable. I think her characters are a less pretentious version of - dare I say it - John Green's. Much like the first book of hers that I read, Amy & Roger's Epic Detour, it's an enjoyable, easy read. A plus: great playlists!
What are your non-beauty favorites? :)
