Maybelline the Hypercurl Volum' Express Mascara

[1 blog post a week? Yes, world's worst blogger right heeere. I'm sorry.]

US Drugstore makeups here in the Philippines aren't cheap. Well, it is a bit, but the markups are ridiculously high. So when I saw this nifty value pack in Duty Free, I didn't hesitate to buy it! The three Maybelline the Hypercurl Volum' Express Mascara costs me only $10! At that time, they were also having a Peso Power sale meaning $1 = PHP39 (supposed to be $43) Yep, I went a little crazy that day. No regrets... no regrets.

(....nice brows)

Maybelline the Hypercurl Volum' Express Mascara has a long curved brush that enables me to coat even the smallest of my lashes. The curved brush also helps curl my lashes even without a use of an eyelash curler. I did use my Shu Uemura curler in the above photo, though. The curls held up really well, and did not droop the whole day. The mascara really lengthens my lashes, but ironically falls flat on the volumizing category. Fiber-based mascara brushes usually volumize my lashes, but this one just doesn't do anything to it :(

I got this in the waterproof version, and oh my gosh, it is extremely waterproof. Bioderma can't even remove it! In the end, I had to resort to using Pond's Cold Cream to wipe it away. It does the job though, so... Maybe next time I'll pick the non-waterproof version of it just to make my life a little easier haha

I don't regret picking this one up, but I think I'll stick to Maybelline Magnum next time.

What's your favorite mascara? :)

  1. Great review, beautiful pictures as always! Can't believe you got the mascara for $10, that's pretty cheap, well compared to Australia anyway! :) I totally feel your pain on the expensive makeup! x

  2. My favorite is also from Maybelline, it's the Falsies mascara in waterproof form because it holds the curl better. I also got that one from Duty Free!
