When the Clarins 3-Dot Liner was released early this year, it made quite a bit of commotion seeing as it was something substantially different from all the eyeliners out in the market. The problem is that it retails for $26 - not an easy amount of money to fork over especially if you're not sure if it would work for you. Also: what if it turns out to be just a gimmicky product?
Fortunately, I found a very, VERY similar product at 1/3 of the price!
Unlike regular felt-tip liquid liners, the Nature Republic Extreme Black 3-dot Eyeliner (Php475) has 3 felt-tip prongs instead of one. The point of 3-dot liner is that it "fills in the spaces between each lash, dot-by-dot, to accentuate and add volume to lashes" (c/o clarinsusa.com), which I don't care much for to be honest. I found it too hard to dot between my lashes because of how my right eye's lid fold. In the end, I use this similar to how you use a regular liquid liner - lining all the way through my lash line and flicking it ever soooo slightly in the end.
The tip of the liner itself is extremely sturdy, so it was an easy feat for me to line my eyes. I found it easier to start lining from the middle of my lash line taking it to the end, then filling the blank space in front after I make the flick. Take note that I've only started using liquid liners recently, so that was such a big accomplishment for me hahaha
As the name implies, the pigmentation of this liner is extremely black. One swipe is all you need, and you're good to go. No need to drag it again and again just for it to be stark black. However, this liner isn't waterproof (nor is it sweat proof), so I don't suggest using this when it's super humid outside. But to be fair, I did wore this in Hong Kong, and I've only noticed some fading come 2pm (and I've had it on since 3am).
Also: I got this during Nature Republic's 3 for the price of 1, so Php160 for one 3-dot liner? SCORE.
Any recommendation for a really good budge-proof, waterproof felt-tip liquid liner? :)
PS I'm torn between K-Palette or Dollywink!
