Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart Valentine

Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart Valentine (Php287.50 down from Php575) was one of the most popular lip product that was released in the market early this year. When I first heard about it, I wasn't too keen on purchasing one as I find it a little too expensive (ish) for a drugstore product.

When Helen of Lucky Citrine blogged about the discount yesterday, I make it a point to drop by a Revlon counter sometime soon. Coincidentally, my dog was scheduled for a grooming, so we took him to SM North Edsa. While waiting for him to finish, we dropped by the makeup section at the department store so I can have a look at the Revlon counter.

Freshly applied; a couple of hours later

The shade that I have, Sweetheart Valentine, is one of the most pigmented colors in the range. Sweetheart Valentine is a cool-toned fuchsia flattering for any skin color. I originally wanted the shade Cherish, but when I swatched it on my hand I had doubts that it will show up on my lips as it was lighter than what I was expecting it to be.

The first couple of hours after applying, the shine/gloss is quite apparent but it sort of dries down to a matte stain after a little while. While it does stain pretty well, it's not transfer-proof, so rubbing and licking your lips will take some colors off. I give it 3 hours before it fades into a stain, but give it an additional 3 more hours before it completely fades away.

I haven't been wearing any lipstick for the past few weeks - weirdly, I find most of my lipsticks too heavy for everyday wear now. The Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain feels incredibly light - like I'm literally not wearing anything on my lips! The name is really quite literal - it's a stain that feels like a very moisturizing lip balm. I really like it, and I now wonder why I didn't buy one sooner. The original price, I think, is actually worth it. I haven't been impressed by a drugstore product since the L'oreal Lucent Magique Foundation so I'm pretty happy about this buy. :)

Are you picking one up while it's still on sale? :)

  1. It's a pretty color :) But i'm not sure about the price though, once the sale's over hehe.

  2. I have this color and I love it too! Thanks to the sale, I got the shade Honey and I've been wearing that the whole week. I really like the menthol flavor that you get when you first apply this product. I forgot about that as I haven't been wearing Sweetheart for a while.

I almost bought Cherish too but yeah, the color looks off on my skin tone when swatched.

  3. Wow, a six hour wear means it's got awesome staying power! I'll check these out, thanks for sharing! xx

  4. What a beautiful colour! I have the shade honey and I really like it <3

  5. Yey you got one too! :D Sweetheart is my sister's fave shade and it looks good on you too. Glad that it's on sale! :)

  6. The staying power is really promising for a balm stain. I would like to try something like this soon. Thanks for sharing! New follower here :)

  7. Feedly is not picking up your feeds. It says, no rss found.

Anyway, glad to have typed in your URL for updates.

I have this in 4 colors :D Adore, Honey, Darling, and Smitten.

Darling is my favorite. It's a lilac with hints of pink. But that's not what I love about it. I love the stain that it leaves (it changes color once it sets into a stain)

All the other 3, I love the color once applied but I don't like the color of the stain they leave. It would've been ok if it's flattering on me.

  8. I'm a huge fan of lip crayon type products but never gave any of these revlon ones a go for some reason! That color looks so pretty & I love how it sounds like a lighter product than a traditional lipstick but still gives a pop of color!

  9. Love revlons kissable balm stain. I usually try to pick them up as a backup or gift when they are on sale. They are so convenient especially when you have a long day ahead of you. :) This looks like such a great colour on you.
