Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart Valentine (Php287.50 down from Php575) was one of the most popular lip product that was released in the market early this year. When I first heard about it, I wasn't too keen on purchasing one as I find it a little too expensive (ish) for a drugstore product.
When Helen of Lucky Citrine blogged about the discount yesterday, I make it a point to drop by a Revlon counter sometime soon. Coincidentally, my dog was scheduled for a grooming, so we took him to SM North Edsa. While waiting for him to finish, we dropped by the makeup section at the department store so I can have a look at the Revlon counter.
Freshly applied; a couple of hours later
The shade that I have, Sweetheart Valentine, is one of the most pigmented colors in the range. Sweetheart Valentine is a cool-toned fuchsia flattering for any skin color. I originally wanted the shade Cherish, but when I swatched it on my hand I had doubts that it will show up on my lips as it was lighter than what I was expecting it to be.
The first couple of hours after applying, the shine/gloss is quite apparent but it sort of dries down to a matte stain after a little while. While it does stain pretty well, it's not transfer-proof, so rubbing and licking your lips will take some colors off. I give it 3 hours before it fades into a stain, but give it an additional 3 more hours before it completely fades away.
I haven't been wearing any lipstick for the past few weeks - weirdly, I find most of my lipsticks too heavy for everyday wear now. The Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain feels incredibly light - like I'm literally not wearing anything on my lips! The name is really quite literal - it's a stain that feels like a very moisturizing lip balm. I really like it, and I now wonder why I didn't buy one sooner. The original price, I think, is actually worth it. I haven't been impressed by a drugstore product since the L'oreal Lucent Magique Foundation so I'm pretty happy about this buy. :)
Are you picking one up while it's still on sale? :)
