Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Favorite

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Favorite ($29/Php1750) was part of Chanel's Spring 2013 collection (I'm not sure if this one's limited edition). La Favorite is described as a "glamorous coral red shade". I definitely think this is the perfect lip color to sport around that time of the year (...not that we have Spring where I'm from). It isn't too pink, not too red, not too coral - it's a bit of those three combined, and it is per-fectttt.

Chanel lipsticks have a scent that is a bit too strong and too floral for me, but for some reasons, with the Rouge Allure Velvet, it doesn't bother me at all. While I can still smell the scent from the tube, when applied on the lips, the scent dissipates quickly enough.

The packaging of the RA Velvet definitely feels a lot more luxurious than the Rouge Coco ones. The Rouge Allure Velvets are housed in a sexy, sleek black tube with a gold Chanel logo on top. Pushing in the logo will make the bottom part of the packaging pop out to reveal the lipstick itself.

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet is my kind of matte lipstick. It's completely matte but it doesn't dry out my lips, and it does not feel heavy at all. It last fairly long, too! 4 hours before I noticed any fading from the center of my lips. Ahh, I really do wonder how Chanel does it - it just blows my mind. I've tried a lot of matte lipstick (drugstore & high-end), but nothing compares to the RA Velvets.

Care to share your favorite RA Velvet shades? ;)

  7. Wow!! what a gorgeous color!! I've been trying to find a lipstick color that works for my skin tone. So far I haven't ventured beyond Clinique or Lancome- the free samples, to be specific hehehe. I definitely will need to stop by and look at the Chanel colors! they look beautiful, and I don't mind scented ones too!

  16. I only have the La Ravissante from the Velvet range so I guess that's my default fave? Haha It's orange too but not as bright as La Favorite. A muted orange I should say. Writing about it is making me want to use it again!
