Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser

Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser (Php299, I got it on discount for Php239) apparently works exactly like the Benefit The POREfessional in a way that they both promised to be a lightweight primer that creates the illusion of poreless skin. The Maybelline Baby Skin pore Eraser also claims to make your face base last longer by lessening the oil production on your face. I don't have the Benefit The POREfessional to actually justify those claims, but the Baby Skin Primer is also quite comparable to another primer that I have tried.

Before & After

The Baby Skin Pore Eraser comes out clear, and the formula of it reminds me of the Tarte Clean Slate Perfecting Primer, although the Maybelline one feels a lot silkier. It glides on amazingly well on my skin, and dries down to a powdery finish. As great as it is though, I find that I tend to use a lot more product when I use the Baby Skin Pore Eraser versus the Tarte one. For the Tarte Primer, I use maybe just a pea-size of product for my whole face, but for the Baby Skin, I actually use a pea size for each area of my face.

In the photo above, I think it's pretty noticeable how much it helps when it comes to minimizing my pores. It also gives a great soft-focus effect on my face - if you are familiar with the Camera360 app's MagicSkin filter, that's exactly how your face is going to look like once you put this primer on. It literally blurs our your imperfections.

While it does make my foundation last a bit longer (maybe around 2-3 hours more), I'm not sure about the oil control aspect of it. I still oiled up a little when I used the primer under my Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation - although I guess I can blame that on the humidity, too.

Overall, I actually really like this primer and would definitely recommend it!

What is your favorite face primer? :)

  1. I have POREfessional! I think the closes dupe I found for it is Etude House's goodbye pore ever primer stick. Same feel, consistency and even scent. I haven't tried it though. But this Maybelline one is cheaper so I am def trying this!:)

  16. I think all Maybelline products starts good on your face then by the time you loved and used it more often, it starts to make your skin worse. (based on experience) That's why I only buy selected products from this line such as their eyeliners and lipbalms. Good review tho!
