Too Cool For School Dinoplatz in Lost in Hawaii

Yes, yes another lipstick review.. by now you should've realize that I am a lipstick hoarder (of a sort). I don't tend to buy palettes and palettes of eyeshadow so I guess that's enough to justify why I buy tons of lipsticks. Well, at least that's what I say to myself.. but we're not here to talk about my lipstick addiction!

On to my most recent purchase.. The sole reason why I wanted something from the Dinoplatz line was because of the packaging! I know, I know, what a sucker.. Each product bore illustrations by Hatori Sando - a self-taught draftsman whose works are influenced by architectural drawings and details of everyday objects. Of course, I totally Googled that.

The Dinoplatz Lost Identity reminds me of Clinique Chubby Sticks & the Revlon Just Bitten Kissables. The Lost Identity is housed in a similar twistable crayon-like packaging - even its formulation is quite similar to the other two, I think. All three of them gives off a nice color - not very pigmented yet still quite opaque if you build it up - and all three yields a glossy finish.

Too Cool For School Dinoplatz in Lost in Hawaii (Php605)'s color is very, very similar to Topshop Lips in Charmed. So similar that I'm mentally kicking myself in the head for picking up this shade (there's another one - a bright pink!). But what's done is done, eh? It's more muted than Charmed, but but they're both similar in terms of how orange they are. Still pretty!

Staying power is weak - two-three hours at most. I ate the best Shawarma in the world (lol not, but it was cheap!) while wearing this, and the lip color was completely gone after the second bite. Though I guess that's expected as per most glossy lipsticks, no?

I had a slight problem with my Lost Identity as captured on my Instagram post here. Aside from this lipstick, the only other one that had melted on me was my MAC Creme de Nude. I'm pretty sure it's because of the heat. Damn the alarmingly high temperature we're having these past few days (35-36C ugh no thank you).

How do you like these lip crayons? :)

  1. I'm much more of a lip person too, I never go wild with the eyes so at best, it's just some concealing work and nude eyeshadows. Yay for the lips!

  5. I love the shade and the tube is so cute, everything about the packaging is cute!

I'm a horrible lipstick hoarder myself, I see nothing wrong if someone has over 100 lipsticks or lip glosses, as long as you make good use of it :)

  7. I've just heard about this brand- the packaging is so adorable and unique! Really like the shade of this one- so perfect for summer! Too bad the staying power isn't great, though. My favourite lipstick pencils are the Revlon Balm Stains and the NARS Satin Lip Pencils :)
