How often do you come across a drugstore foundation, use it for a couple of weeks, then say, "ahh this one's a keeper"? It doesn't happen
Sadly, these were taken a few days before I had a horrible no good very bad breakouts no thanks to Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate. Ahh, to have clear skin everyday..
L'oreal Lucent Magique Foundation (Php995 on introductory price of Php845) is dubbed as a "light infusing foundation" which helps make your skin look glowy & luminous - it leaves your skin dewy, but not overly so. As you can see in the photos above, it definitely made me look healthier and more "alive". The formula is quite thick and a bit tricky to apply, it goes on streaky when I use my RT Bufffing brush. I tried using a flat top brush, and it blended seamlessly on my skin. 1 pump is enough for my whole face. It offers a medium coverage which is always good. It covers enough of the acne scars on my cheeks, but I still found myself needing to apply concealer to help with my active spots.
Although, I think that this foundation will suit people with dull/dry skin more, I had no problem using it myself (oily skin). It doesn't last all day, which is okay as it doesn't claim to be a long-wearing foundation anyway. I'd give it until maybe 3 hours before I see the need to retouch/blot.
What I love most about this foundation is how perfectly it matches my skin tone! I have it in the shade G4, and for reference I'm a MAC NC35. I always have a hard time matching myself with foundations because they usually lack the strong yellow undertones that I need. G4 delivers quite well in that department. It's super yellow, yet it doesn't make me look like I have Hepatitis. Score!
Packaging is not anything special, although the rose-gold detailing managed to catch my eye, to be honest.. Yes, I'm still stuck in that rose-gold stage. So, sue me. ;)
* It's called the Lumi Magique foundation internationally - they changed the name after reformulating the product to suit Asian skin tone better (more Yellow tone shades).
What's your favorite drugstore foundation? :)
