MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation is not my favorite foundation, but it's the foundation that I rely on the most. I'm still very skeptical about MAC face products (they tend to break me out), so I reach for this only when I need the extra coverage.

Pardon my face, but I can't seem to smile on photos lately?

I find that gel-based foundations work so much better on me, so I was a happy camper when I bought the Studio Sculpt. But really, why is this the foundation I reach for when I need the extra coverage? Because it gives me a medium to full coverage without the heavy feeling. I've tried the ELDW foundation, and it just won't work on me. It feels like a mask and looks like a mask. Not a very flattering look ;)

MAC Studio Sculpt gives me the coverage I need minus the horror of caking up. The price was $30 which cost just a tad bit more expensive that their other foundations (bar the Face and Body) and comes in a tube (40ml) instead of the usual bottle (with only 30ml of product). I think it's a pretty good deal seeing as you literally need a pea-sized amount of this to cover up your whole face. As you can see on the photos above, it covered almost all my acne marks except that stubborn one on my cheek. Again, this is without using any concealer. Even without using a primer, it's budge-proof, it's also very much transfer-proof. But the thing that I love the most about this foundation? It takes around 5-6 hours before I notice any oil on my t-zone!

What's your go-to foundation? :)

  1. That's amazing! It looks very good :) Never tried this foundation, only tried MAC Satinfinish Mineralize and that broke me out too so I've been afraid to try another MAC foundation since that seems to be the case for so many people.

  2. I'm liking the fact it's transfer-proof and you don't get oiliness until quite a while after you've applied it! Those are some foundation bonuses :) Coverage seems really good as well. I've not tried any MAC foundations but I have heard mixed reviews about them, especially as quite a few reviews I've heard say that they're heavy and break people out. I think it's about picking the right one for your skin type and needs and how you apply it :)

  3. Looking lovely! I'm using Lancome and I just bought the Garnier BB cream. They're both alright but I'm still searching for THE one, haha ^_^

  4. @Seonaid: Thank you! I've wanted to try the Satinfinish one myself, but I guess I'll just stay away from that one! :p

@sleepandwater: I've heard MAC makeups are supposed to be for studio hence why some are too heavy and not meant to be worn for a long time?

@Janice: I've heard so many good things about the Garnier BB Cream! I wish I can try that one! xx
