Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentre

I'm not really fond of moisturizers, in fact, I've never used once (sans the time I unexpectedly got skin rash on my neck in which case my dermatologist prescribed me Physiogel AI Cream). I don't like putting cream on my face especially during daytime since it's incredibly hot. But I'm still under acne-medication, and it's been drying some parts of my face so I bought this to use once the rainy, much colder season rolls around. Also, this product's been hyped by dozens of Youtube vloggers, bloggers, makeup artists, models, etc etc. I have to say the hype was one of the reason why I was swayed to purchase this!

Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentre is the perfect moisturizer. That is, if you have dry skin. Though it's toted as something that "all skin types" can use, I have to disagree with that claim. For me, who has combination-oily skin, this is a bit too much. It's not rich/heavy at all, but I find that it takes quite a long time to sink in, and when it does, it makes me my face look even more oily! I'm also wary because it's scented, but surprisingly, this hasn't been a problem for me as I've never broke out. But it's still something to think about when you're thinking of purchasing this. Oh, it also doesn't contain any SPF.

While the Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentre didn't work for me as a moisturizer, I found it to be the perfect face primer. I use the tiniest amount of this for my whole face, topped it with my The Face Shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream (what a mouthful; review soon). It's amazing! After applying the Embryolisse, my face becomes so smooth to touch that the BB cream glides on my face! It's kind of like I've applied a silicone-based face primer! Thank goodness it worked for me this way, because I will be pissed if I have to just trash this expensive moisturizer.

Will I repurchase this? Uh, 50/50. From the looks of it, this tube will go a long, long way with me. If I ran out though, maybe I'll repurchase if I haven't found a better face primer. But I seriously don't doubt that there are better, less overhyped product out there, but if you have dry/normal skin, and you're looking for a no-nonesense, fuss free moisturizer, this might be the one for you.

  1. I wanted to try this for ages but the scented thing put me off! I'm glad to see you like it though and might have to get it now :P
    S xx

  2. I really want to try this one as I've only heard raves and recommendations. Not sure it'd be suitable for me though because my skin is fairly combination. In winter it does get a bit dry. Interesting that it's almost like a silicone primer though, guess that's why a lot of people like using it before foundation :) It's fairly pricey but at least a little goes a long way.

  3. @Seonaid: I didn't know that it was perfumed when I bought it! Really lad I didn't broke out!

@sleepandwater: I've hear a lot of people do use this as a primer vs as an actual moisturizer!
