Bangkok is described as "Soft Rose" which I thought was a spot on. As the name of the lipstick line implies, it really is matte. It has no sheen, no shine, no gloss whatsoever. What it has are bits of shimmers. Now don't be put out by this, even though I admit I was a bit skeptical at first because whoever heard of a matte lipstick with shimmers on it, right? Well, the shimmers are noticeable but it's not bothersome, it's also not gritty at all - it's just there. I'm guessing to give some dimensions so the lipstick won't look "flat" on your lips. The lipstick when applied is very dry, and a little uncomfortable on the lips at first, but you do get used to it. Bangkok was named as Instyle's 2011 "Best Lipstick for Fair Skin." It really is great for people with a lighter complexion, I'm a little darker now (photo above was taken about a week before I went to Coron), and I find that it tends to wash me out when I wear it now.
This lipstick isn't suited for one with dry lips so best exfoliate & moisturize your lips before using this! Not doing so would definitely result to gross, patchy application! I bought it for 250 HKD (25USD) which is expensive for something with so little product - it only has 2g worth of product in the tube! But it's super long-wearing! I know for the fact that the lighter the shade of a lipstick is, the easier it disappears on the lips. But with Bangkok, I didn't even have to reach for the tube to reapply it after a full day. Despite all the nice compliments that I have given Bangkok, I still think it's a little too overpriced!
Oh, oh, I downloaded Game of Thrones season 2, episode 1 last night!! I haven't watched it yet because I'm still psyching myself haha! Ooooh Robb Stark I missed your face, you sexy GQMF! x Are (/were) you as excited as I am?? :)
