L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

I'm not vain at all means, but you know one thing that scares me the most? Having Madonna hands. Or having dry, flaky hands, for that matter. I've never used to have problems regarding my hands, but recently, I have been washing my hands a lot. And drenching it with tons of alcohol and/or hand sanitizers. Result? Dry, patchy hands. Now, obviously it isn't (still) at par with Madonna's hands, but there's no harm in preventing, right?

A while ago, I finally bit the bullet, and bought myself a travel size of the L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream. I wasn't too keen on handing out quite a lot of money (P495) for a tiny 30ml tube of hand cream. I've also read reviews that says that it's a bit thick, and was worried that it would be too sticky for the humid Manila weather. On the other hand, I've also heard A LOT of good things about this product.

I wanted a scent other than the Shea Butter, but I was in a hurry (was going to hear mass since it's ~Ash Wednesday), and was only able to try on the Rose scented one which I dislike. When the lady at the store told me that the original formulas is thicker than the other ones because it's much more moisturizing, I hurriedly told her that I'm going to buy it.

People are right when they said that it's thick, but surprisingly, not overly so. One tiny blob of the cream is enough to moisturize both my hands. It's not greasy, it sinks in well, and it keeps my hands so, so soft. The scent reminds me of the Johnson's baby lotion - powdery, and very soothing. I'm pretty happy with my choice, but I would definitely try on a different scent next time I buy one.

What's your favorite hand cream? :)

  2. I feel so macho for not having a hand cream. I mean, a body lotion is enough for me. (Are these two the same? I'm so... confused.) Haha! Either way, I LOVEEEE Bath & Body Work's Secret Wonderland body lotion! It's very fragrant too :>

  3. @ Seonaid: Your blog post about this is one of the reasons why I bought this, actually!

  4. @ Aileen: Haha, I used to think they're both the same! Apparently, hand creams are thicker than regular lotions - hence, more moisturizing!

I love B&BW's body lotions, too!

  6. @ April: It is true, though, right? Haha, she looks lovely for her age, but her hands (and arms!) are quite alarming!

  9. May kamahalan :p Try ko muna Nivea Creme, yung nasa blue tin can.

Hindi pa naman ako super madonna hands, pero I can see my hands going there, aaack. And medyo boney and man-shaped kasi yung hands ko, with ugat, really similar to her hands. All those years of snapping my knuckles, and not using gloves handling cleaning agents, hay, at least I have hands.

  12. The Madonna hands made me laugh =D

Nivea moisturiser works the best for me and I've never had to think about the weather when it comes to using moisturiser! The weather in Vienna is really cold and dry though.
