Chocolate! For my face...?

(photo from

My sister & I love face masks. When I saw the Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Mask while at the mall, I just had to buy it! It's cheap (P89), and come on, it's chocolate!

Hello ;)

The mask itself has a nice consistency - not too thick, but not watery either. Have you ever properly melted a chocolate bar? That's how it is, exactly. On my face, it feels quite heavy, and it warmed up a bit (which caused me to panic!). But, oh dear God, the smell! Oh, the SMELL! So heavenly. :}~

Despite the smell, I was still hesitant to put it on my face because it's possible that this may break me out. I mean, it's chocolate! Formulated to be put on the face, but still, it's chocolate! Pore clogging chocolate! So I washed the mask off 10 minutes later (recommended time: 10-20 mins). I was pleasently surprised to find that my face feels sooo clean & bright! And it really helped calmed down the redness on my face! Just 2 days later though, I had 2 MASSIVE zits (almost cyst like! Gross!), I didn't use anything new except this mask, so I'm 100% sure that this is the culprit.

Will I repurchase? I don't doubt that there are (much) better face masks out there that won't break me out, so no. Despite the zits though, I do recommend this mask only if you don't have a super sensitive/acne prone skin like I do! It really does work. :) My sister used it, too, and she didn't break out!

What face masks do you recommend? :)

  1. I found these masks (the whole brand, not just chocolate ones) totally broke me out. But I have really sensitive skin so it might just be me. I've yet to find a facemask I really like but when I do I'll tell you first!
    S xx

  2. I tried another mask from them a few weeks back, it's.. ehm, blue. & thankfully, that didn't break me out! I will probably stay away from this brand from now on, though! Best to be careful! x

  3. @Kirsty: Go, try it! I'd take a bit of caution, though x
