I'm hoping to revive this blog (eep at the falling # of my followers~), but seriously I have Z E R O ideas on what to write about.. mostly because I haven't bought anything new for the last couple of months. And seriously, the last thing on my mind nowadays is slapping on even more makeup on my face. THE HEAT IS NO BUENO. I can deal with a little tinted moisturizer (Jouer Matte Moisture Tint; a Godsend), groomed eyebrow, some blush and a dash of lip color. But layers of mascara? Slapping on concealer? Contour? Highlight? Eye makeup? Blaaagh no thanks.

But today, I braved the heat; and ~experimented. Or at least I tried to do something.. for a change.

Just like everyone, my first foray to eyeshadow includes shimmery, frosty eyeshadow. Shimmery shadow, for me, is something that you wear to parties & events. It's fun. It's young. It's glamorous. Or at least, it can be if you apply it correctly. Too much and you'd end up like you have a disco ball on your eyelids... not a good look, I have to tell you. Also, you have to deal with fallout.. Lots and lots of it.

My favorite combination as of now is: Nature Republic #12 for the lid, NARS Galapagos on the crease & UD Dark Horse on the outer corner + lower lash line.

While I love shimmery eye makeup,  over the few months, I have fallen head over heels in love with matte eyeshadow. For me, matte eyeshadow is the sophisticated older sister of shimmery eyeshadow. It's something you wear to a date, or a meeting. So far, I've had just a few problems when it come to using matte shadows (ie some are quite dry and chalky); but they do tend to last longer than shimmery shadows and no fallouts! So you win some, you lose some. But at least you look frigging fabulous, and that's all that matters in the end, right?

Here I'm wearing: NARS Bellisima on the lid, MAC Espresso on my crease, NARS Coconut Grove on the outer corner.

So which one do you gravitate towards more? Matte or shimmery? :)

...yes, Blossom!! As in the Blossom I thought was being discontinued by Burberry! I got it while I was in Taipei a month ago, and they have every single blush shade in stock ♥ I went inside the store originally in search for the Lip Velvet in Bright Poppy, but they don't have the Lip Velvet range in stock yet.

Dejectedly, I was literally about to walk out of the store, when I passed by their blush testers... Then I saw Blossom, and my heart kind of maybe skipped a beat. I was actually pretty surprised to find that they have it in stock so I hurriedly told the SA to 'uhm, so yeah... I guess I'll just take this instead' without trying it on. Who cares if the color won't suit me, I've been wanting this shade for ages looooooooool I thought I've matured....

I guess not so much.

(They also restocked their whole makeup line on the Burberry website, so all's cool now I guess)

(Sorry not sorry for the huge photo but sorry for the massive zit UGH)

Burberry Light Glow Blush in Blossom (1500NTD / Php2230) is my first pink blush in years. 5 years, to be exact. I just gravitate towards peach & apricot colors more, and tend to overlook any other shades in any blush line. Guess I've been doing it wrong my whole life because holy crap, Blossom looks great on tanned skin (ie mine hehe)!

Temptalia described this shade as "coral-orange–there is the merest hint of pink in the background" but it seemed the opposite to me. This gives me a really nice hint of pink flush - with no traces of peach at all.

With absolutely no surprises, this blush is so pigmented that not only do I tap my blush brush on the pan very, very lightly - I also have to tap it on the side of the blush pan to get rid of any powder excess on my brush! It stays put pretty much the whole day, too! :)

Have you tried any great blush lately? :)

(I feel like a jackass for posting this super mediocre post after being gone for a month, but all the rest of my photos are still on SD card - and I haven't gotten a new card reader yet. :( So sorry, will make it up to you?)

I love this bag. It looks absolutely similar to the Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC which I've been coveting since 2 years ago! That one costs 195USD, and I just can't get make myself spend that much on a bag. Not yet anyway. Maybe I'll splurge on a 'high-end' bag someday. When I can actually tell myself that I deserve it. But for now, this bag would do! I got this from Cotton On last December for just Php1200 (or maybe less than Php1000. I forget). 1/8th the price of a Mini MAC! Good enough for me. :)

  1. Apple iPhone earphones - this one's the old version, and is already`` 2 years old. Surprisingly, it's holding up really well!
  2. Forever 21 cat mirror! It says, "are you kitten me right meow" on the front lol ♥
  3. MAC Captive - a super underrated shade! Honestly, if you like muted plum shades, you should get this one.
  4. Ballpen. I have a pocket size notebook, too.
  5. Watsons Mini Wet Wipes
  6. Nichido Gel Liner - I'm not really sure why I have this here haha
  7. Maybelline Baby Lips which S U C K S & that's that.
  8. Another Rebecca Minkoff inspired pouch; also from Cotton On. This serves as my wallet because the long one that I usually use is too big for this bag
  9. Michael Kors Rose Gold watch. It's inside my bag because I had the battery changed.
  10. Burberry Pink Apricot - my go-to lipstick. Love this one FOREVER.
  11. Medicine Kit because I'm paranoid
  12. Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer. This one smells like berries, and it's terrible. I do love the graphics, though.
  13. Maybelline Fit Me powder for touch ups
  14. & my keys! :)
One year ago, you will never make me give up my big bags.. but I'm really liking being a 'minimalist' of a sort. Smaller bags make it a lot easier for me to fight the urge to cram it full of useless things (ie three hundred thousand lipsticks and blushes that I couldn't possibly use to touch up). It's also easier on the shoulder ;)

And of course Keiko just can't pass up the chance to get his photograph taken, so...there you go.
